Locked Out

So here I am at 4:00 am writing a blog. It may seem ridiculous, but I have good reason. I was somewhat attempting my homework in room 314 when Melanie decided to practice my Cheshire Cat makeup for Alice in Wonderland tomorrow. That lasted until about 1:00 am, at which time we attempted to switch back to homework. Because I'm lazy, I'm just going to make this short story even shorter. I headed back to my room about 20 minutes ago, and after washing my face and getting ready to go to bed, I turned to go into my bedroom. But alas, it was locked. I kept trying the doorknob, thinking that maybe if I turned harder it would spring open and let me into my sleeping chamber. False. That did not happen.
After debating my possible options (one of which included banging on the door until I woke my roommate up), I figured that the only thing I could do is go back to room 314 and sleep on their Bliss Bag. I have no alarm clock, my phone has died, and I get to sleep in my jeans and scratchy cami tonight. I'm a little miffed. It could've been worse though, I could've been locked out of my entire apartment and stuck out in the cold. Jenna has just suggested to me that I should write a list of why I'm lucky, or basically what things I'm grateful for so that I don't dwell on the negative. So here goes my short 4:00 am list of what I am grateful for:

1) The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I'm extremely grateful for knowing what I know, and being able to know that I always have the help of the Lord.
2) A higher education. Even though it has its ups and downs, it's definitely worth it. I can't imagine not going to college, it's been one of the greatest things I've had the opportunity to participate in and have.
3)
Family. This year has started off a bit rough for my family, and I have a feeling that 2010 will continue to be even more challenging, but I'm so happy that my family is able to stick together and ultimately be together for Eternity. Even though we all have our crazy moments, it makes life so much more entertaining.
4) Being left-handed. This sounds ridiculous, but for someone who only has a limited range of talents, being a southpaw makes me feel awesome. Plus, I get to high-five all the other lefties I meet... them righties can't do that.
5)
Friends. I won't even attempt to start to describe how friends change my life, but I definitely know that I love my friends more than I love cats. Yes, it is true.

Anyways, I have to find a way to sleep/do homework for the next 5 hours until my roommate wakes up...
G'night!
